After serving in the U.S. Navy, James started in the Insurance world as an underwriter with Safeco Insurance. In 1980 he decided he wanted to open his own insurance agency. Since that time, James has worked to make sure each customer has a personalized insurance experience. James does have a life outside of insurance. He and his wife, The Rev. Gene Manning, enjoy spending time with the family which includes James Manning, Jr. in Washington, DC, and son, The Rev. W. Bentley Manning, his wife, and daughters, Mary Bentley and Alice Grace in Highlands, NC. James and Gene’s daughter, Graham Bratton, her husband Will, and daughters Harper Virginia and Caroline Hill, live close by in Nashville.

She is active in several local organizations and enjoys working with Room in the Inn and the Nashville Diaper Connection throughout the year. Martine was the 2016 President of Insurors of Nashville. In her free time, Martine loves to visit local coffee shops in Nashville and explore all that Nashville has to offer.
